Ritual was a 45 minute music theatre performance I created as a final project for my masters in music. The show was based on 5 rituals from different eras and cultures. I also tried to turn the concert format on it’s head, creating a total concert experience where all the elements of what the experiences were curated from start to end. Everything from the lighting, seating arrangement, temperature of the different rooms, and all the instrumentation.
The show took place in an hexagon shape with a pool of water in the centre. The audience were seated around the pool with the musicians moving around outside them.
